World-Class Player in the Energy Transition
TotalEnergies puts Corporate Social Responsability at the heart of its activities and conducts its operations according to key principles.
More energy, fewer emissions
Climate change is one of the most daunting challenges of the 21st century and we have chosen to support the objectives of the Paris Agreement commitments. To ensure that the needs of a growing population are met in a sustainable manner, we will need to produce and supply energy in greater quantities, but above all, in a better way, by limiting our emissions through diversifying our mix to include more renewable and decarbonised energy.
And we have set ourselves ambitious reduction goals for all our global operations, both for our operated industrial facilities (Scopes 1 and 2) and for emissions resulting from the use of our products by our customers (Scope 3).
TotalEnergies has been operating in the United States since 1957. Our focus is on identifying opportunities across the entire energy value chain to meet growing energy needs while reducing carbon emissions. Our U.S. business strategy is centered on natural gas and renewables in the evolving U.S. energy market.
Becoming a world-class player in the energy transition means meeting the growing demand for energy and adapting to changing customer expectations. Renewable energies and energy storage solutions work together with natural gas in the energy transition. Natural gas – the least carbon-intensive fossil fuel – is one of the solutions available for combating global warming while providing the world with the energy it needs.
TotalEnergies is developing a number of solar and energy storage projects in the U.S., targeting 4 gigawatts in cumulative capacity by 2025. We are also positioning ourselves in the high-potential U.S. offshore wind market that will provide renewable electricity to millions of U.S homes.
