Liquified Natural Gas
In 2021, TotalEnergies became one of the largest exporter of U.S. LNG, accounting for more than 10% of total U.S. LNG from five liquefaction terminals in the Gulf of Mexico, including Cameron LNG and Freeport LNG.
Becoming a world-class player in the energy transition means meeting the growing demand for energy and adapting to changing customer expectations. Renewable energies and energy storage solutions work together with natural gas in the energy transition. Natural gas – the least carbon-intensive fossil fuel – is one of the solutions available for combating global warming while providing the world with the energy it needs.
Ensuring gas can fulfill its role in the world energy mix represents a key issue. At TotalEnergies, we’ve made it a major focus of our strategy.
TotalEnergies has a 25% stake in Clean Energy, a distributor of natural gas vehicle fule and biogas for road transportation with 550 service stations across North America. Through their joint venture, TotalEnergies and its U.S. partner Clean Energy are launching the construction of their first biomethane production unit, in Friona, Texas. The biomethane will be used as an alternative fuel for mobility, thus contributing to decarbonize road transportation.
