Building on a nearly 70-year presence in this great country, we have invested $12 billion since 2022 to accelerate our development in oil, LNG and electricity. Our ambition is to deliver the energy the world needs today while building the low-carbon energy system of tomorrow.

Explore the Pillars of our Multi-Energy Strategy in the U.S.

Expanding in LNG and natural gas is key to the energy transition.

TotalEnergies is the leading exporter of U.S. LNG, shipping more than 10 million tons annually (Mtpa). We expect our LNG export capacity to reach more than 16 Mtpa by 2030.
We have investments in LNG facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast and Baja California, including Cameron LNG, Rio Grande LNG, and Energia Costa Azul, as well as offtake agreements with major U.S. terminals such as Sabine Pass, Freeport, and Corpus Christi.
We operate in the Barnett natural gas shale play in the Dallas-Forth Worth area and hold interests in the Eagle Ford shale play and Anadarko Basin.
Our Houston trading hub is a top-tier natural gas trading player, also active in LNG, natural gas liquids, sulfur, and petcoke.
Active in biogas through a joint venture with Vanguard Renewables, a leader in farm-based waste-to-renewable natural gas, we also produce biomethane for transportation in our joint venture with Clean Energy.

TotalEnergies is helping lead the transition to a low-carbon energy system with investments in electricity generation.

In the U.S., we are engaged across the entire electricity value chain with renewable energy, flexible power generation, battery storage, and trading.
Home to one of our largest global renewable power generation portfolios, we have 10 GW of onshore utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage installed or under construction in the U.S. We expect to have 33 GW of operated and non-operated renewable power capacity by 2030.
We are among the top renewable power developers in the country, owning 50 percent of Clearway Energy, the fifth-largest solar and wind energy player in the U.S.
To offset the intermittency of renewables, we have 1.5 GW of flexible generation capacity in Texas with combined cycle turbine power plants (CCGT) and peaker units – Wolf Hollow 1, Colorado Bend 1 and La Porte – that serve the growing demand of Dallas and Houston.
Relying on the expertise of our wholly owned affiliate Saft, a leading global battery company, we have 550 MW of battery storage capacity installed or under construction in the U.S.
Our power trading team in Houston manages the electricity produced by our assets so it can be added to the grid when and where it is needed.

We are growing across the oil value chain, with a diverse portfolio of assets and products.

Our oil production is growing significantly driven by high-value, low-emission deepwater assets off the U.S. Gulf Coast, with interests in the Chevron-operated Anchor, Ballymore, Tahiti, and Jack fields. We also have a 25% working interest in a portfolio of 40 Chevron-operated offshore exploration leases.
Our Port Arthur Platform in Texas refines 238,000 barrels per day of both heavy and light crude, and produces low-sulfur fuels suited for U.S. markets.
We operate a one-million-ton-per year ethane cracker as part of Baystar, a 50/50 joint venture with Borealis.
We own one of the world’s largest polypropylene plants in La Porte, Texas, which produces thermoplastic polymers used for packaging, textiles, lab equipment, and automotive parts.
We produce sustainably certified polystyrene made from recycled residue at our styrene and polystyrene facility in Carville, Louisiana, the world’s largest.
Our Houston-based trading hub provides physical and financial trading as well as transportation and storage for crude oil and refined products.
Our shipping team oversees first-class maritime transport and logistics management to ensure products move where and when they are needed.
Located near Port Arthur, Texas, we joined partners Chevron and Equinor to invest in the Bayou Bend carbon capture and storage project.

Our Community Involvement and Sustainability Investments

U.S. Employees Recognized for their Community Engagement at the Houston Food Bank

For more than 10 years, TotalEnergies has partnered with the Houston Food Bank, the largest food bank in the United States. As part of this partnership, many colleagues have participated in collecting and distributing food items in Texas through the Company's employee volunteering Action! Program. In 2023, the initiative received the Gold President's Volunteer Service Award, a civilian honor conferred by the President of the United States.
