La Porte Polypropylene Plant
Global Leader in Polypropylene
TotalEnergies owns and operates the La Porte Polypropylene Plant, one of the largest polypropylene production facilities in North America. Located in La Porte, Texas, this advanced polypropylene manufacturing plant is a key asset in TotalEnergies’ North American petrochemical operations, supplying high‑quality polypropylene materials to customers in North America.
The La Porte Plant supports a wide range of polypropylene applications, including packaging, textiles, automotive parts, lab equipment, and consumer goods. Originally acquired in 1984, La Porte has been expanded three times and now produces 1.2 million tons of polypropylene per year.
La Porte benefits from TotalEnergies integrated model: a sizable percentage of its propylene comes from the Mont Belvieu splitter (TotalEnergies 33%) and the BTP Port Arthur cracker (TotalEnergies 40%, BASF 60%)
